Prof. Dr. William A. Haseltine is well known for his scientific contributions both to cancer and HIV/AIDS research and to genome science. From 1976 to 1993 he was Professor at the Harvard Medical School and at the Harvard School of Public Health. He was Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Human Genome Sciences Inc. from 1993 to 2004. He is President of the William Haseltine Foundation for Medical Sciences and the Arts, Chairman of the ACCESS Health Initiative, Hyderabad, India, and is active in the areas of international science, science policy, economics, and philanthropy.
