Prof. Dr Urs Gasser, LL.M. (Harvard)

Prof. Dr Urs Gasser, LL.M. (Harvard) is Executive Director of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. He teaches at Harvard Law School, the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and at the Fudan University School of Management, China. He is Visiting Professor at the KEIO University, Japan, and Fellow at the Gruter Institute for Law and Behavioral Research. Professor Gasser has published many books including Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives (2008), in collaboration with John Palfrey, which has been translated into ten languages. He has contributed over 80 articles to academic journals. Central to his work is the Public Information Act and its political context. More recently he has worked in particular on the themes of interoperability, the quality of information, the legal consequences for innovation and risk in information and communication technology, and alternative systems of governance. Professor Gasser graduated from the University of St. Gallen (J.D., S.J.D.), and Harvard Law School (LL.M./ Master of Laws), and has been honored for his research with many academic prizes.
