Prof. Dr med. dipl. chem. Elke Holinski-Feder

Elke Holinski-Feder completed her degree in chemistry (1989), doctoral studies in medicine (1993), and postdoctoral qualification in human genetics (2001) in the Medical Genetics Department at Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich. She became a consultant in human genetics in 1999 and in 2000 was made Director of the Medizinisch Genetisches Zentrum in Munich. Since 2007 she has been a Visiting Researcher at the Medical Clinic of LMU, Munich, and in 2008 was appointed Adjunct Professor. In 2001 Professor Holinski-Feder was awarded the Therese von Bayern Prize for Outstanding Women Scientists; in 2003 she received the Innovation Prize from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs; and in 2014 she won the Felix Burda Award for Medicine and Science. Professor Holinski-Feder is a member of the German, European, and American Societies for Human Genetics, and of the Professional Association of German Geneticists. She is on the scientific advisory board of the Network against Colorectal Cancer as well as on the board of trustees of Lebenshilfe.
