Prof. Dr Dr h. c. Wolfgang Schön studied law and economics at the University of Bonn. He was a full professor at the University of Bielefeld (1992 – 1996) and the University of Bonn (1996 – 2002) before he joined the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance as scientific member and director in 2002. He is Honorary Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, member of the Global Law Faculty, New York University and International Research Fellow of the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation. Professor Schön was Vice President of the Max Planck Society (2008 – 2014) and currently serves as Vice President of the German Research Foundation (since 2014). He has published extensively in German, European and International Tax Law, Corporate Law, and Private Law.
