Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth

An economics graduate (Diplom-Volkswirt, University of Bonn), Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth was born on February 23, 1966 in Heidelberg, Germany, a descendant of the firm founder Friedrich Röchling. He was elected to Röchling’s regulatory bodies in 2000, assuming deputy chairmanship of these in 2004. In the summer of 2008 he took over the role of Chairman of the Shareholder Board, and since the beginning of 2011 he has also been Chairman of the Advisory Board at Röchling SE & Co. KG in Mannheim, Germany. In 2002, after positions at auditing companies and as a management consultant, Freiherr von Salmuth became Executive Director of Aluminium-Werke Wutöschingen AG & Co.KG, an aluminum-processing company in South Baden, Germany. In 2009, he became a member of the Governance Commission for Family-owned Companies, in 2011 a board member and in 2013 Vice President of DIE FAMILIEN-UNTERNEHMER e. V. Since 2011, he has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the WHU Foundation of the Otto Beisheim School of Management in Koblenz, Germany.
