Dr Corinna Thierolf

Corinna Thierolf is the principal curator at the Bavarian Staatsgemäldesammlung in Munich and, as a consultant for art, she curates numerous exhibitions at the modernity picture gallery, among others, pieces by Joseph Beuys, Dan Flavin, Arnulf Rainer und John Chamberlain. Since 2013 she is convenor of the collective exhibition Königsklasse at Herrenchiemsee Castle. As author and editor of publications, she dedicates herself to North-American art, especially to the creations of John Cage, Willem de Kooning, Walterde Maria, Dan Flavin, and Fred Sandback, as well as the German artists Georg Baselitz, Jörg Immendorff, Anselm Kiefer, Wolfgang Laib, Sigmar Polke, and Arnulf Rainer. Throughout the past years she engaged with the creations of Fabienne Verdier and Jerry Zeniuk. In 2018, Thierolf’s conversations with Heiner Friedrich, an impactful gallerist and founder of the New York Dia Art Foundation as well as the DASMAXIMUM foundation in Trautreuth, were published in a book edition.
