Dr Peter Wittig has been working as a Senior Advisor Global Affairs for Schaeffler AG in Berlin since May 2020. Additionally, he has been a Fisher Family Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School since July 2020. Previously Dr. Wittig had been a member of the German diplomatic service for almost four decades, totalling five ambassador postings. Most recently, he was German Ambassador to London (2018–2020), Washington (2014–2018), and the United Nations in New York (2009–2014). Ambassador Wittig studied history, political science and law at the Universities of Bonn, Freiburg, Canterbury, and Oxford. He then taught at the University of Freiburg for three years. He is married to Huberta von Voss-Wittig. The couple has four children.
