The first Convoco Lecture in Berlin took place in the New National Gallery on November 24, 2009. The annual theme was “The Demographic Problem as a Danger to Legal Culture and Economy”.

The introduction by Dr. Corinne Michaela Flick and Prof. Dr. Robert K. Freiherr von Weizsäcker was followed by a presentation by Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, who since has become Federal Minister of Finances. His presentation was titled “Demographic Change: Challenge and Opportunity for the Community”.
