On 13 March 2012 Convoco organized a lecture in Berlin. The talks and the debate were on “The Role of Civil Society in the Struggle for Justice in Global Governance – Combating International Corruption.”
Dr. Corinne Flick welcomed the guests with an introduction. She put the lecture into the framework of the overall topic of the year: “Between What Is and What Should Be – Societies that Break their own Law as a Threat to Liberty.” After that, H.E. Shaukat Aziz, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, discussed the importance of “good governance” in the fight against corruption. The talk was based on His Excellency’s background as Finance Minister and Prime Minister. Finally, Prof. Peter Eigen gave a lecture on global corruption and shared his experiences as founder of Transparency International.
